In late 2017, Ben and his family purchased the Old Helper Mercantile building; a 7,000 square-foot building with an additional five-bay garage that was previously used as a beer and soda bottling plant.

Bringing back the interior

Fire damage had ravaged a major portion of the center building and required complete demolition. In the coming months, Ben will enjoy a studio space more than double in size from his current one, allowing his old studio space to transition into a gallery in Helper’s retail district.

The new studio expansion will allow for larger scale pieces and free up a Ben Steele gallery space as our small town continues to grow as an art destination.
